Intimate Apparel, a 2003 drama by Lynn Nottage, is an Off-Broadway Show 2022 that tells the heartbreaking story of a Black seamstress and her pen-pal admirer in Panama. The show is displayed in a chamber opera with a libretto by Nottage and a musical parody by Ricky Ian Gordon.


The Off-Broadway show is directed by Bartlett Sher and choreographed by Dianne McIntyre. Kearstin Piper Brown, a classical soprano, plays the primary role of Esther. Chabrelle Williams plays the leading role at the Saturday and Wednesday matinees. Tickets to the show are available for sale.

This Off-Broadway show depicts the story of Joshua Harmon, who climbed the family tree of five generations of French Jews from the 1940s to date. It describes anti-Semitism in the past and present.

David Cromer directed the world premiere of this show for NYC, and the cast includes Yair Ben-Don, Ari Brand, Betsy Aidem, Francis Benhamou, Pierre Epstein, Molly Ranson, etc.

Tambo and Bones is a comedy Off-Broadway show with available tickets for sale. The title characters, Tambo and Bones, are two minstrel-show identities who intend to evade the borders of their dramatic surroundings.


The title characters are played by Tyler Fauntleroy and W. Tré Davis in a meta-theatrical satire that is racially charged and a “rags-to-riches hip-hop odyssey” by Dave Harris, a playwright who was formerly a slam poet. The show’s world premiere was directed by Taylor Reynolds, and the other casts include Dean Linnard and Brendan Dalton.

The show can be watched by friends and families of different ages in an NYC Broadway theater.

Actor and musicians Nick Blaemire and Van Hughes take the lead in their original and recent musical two-hander. The show depicts the relationship between Laika, a Russian cosmonaut dog, and the scientist who groomed and sent her to space and her demise in 1957.

The sharp-minded Ellie Heyman, a downtown director, directs the mission for the MCC Theater, where the Off-Broadway musical is displayed.

The 2022 season of the exquisite Encores! The concert series at City Center NYC starts with the 1983 Broadway show, The Tap Dance Kid. The musical portrays the story of a 10-year-old boy with a dream to become a professional dancer. However, he is confronted with opposition and a lack of support from his family.

The show is directed by Kenny Leon and choreographed by Jared Grimes. The cast includes Alexander Bello as the kid, Trevor Jackson, Joshua Henry, Adrienne Walker, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Tracee Beazer, and De Witt Fleming Jr.

Wolf play is an unusual but innovative Off-Broadway show written by Hansol Jung, a Korean-American playwright. The show tells the story of a South Korean boy adopted by an American family.

The story is illustrated by a puppet (designed by Amanda Villalobos) operated by a wolf-dressed actor. 

Into the woods is an Off-Broadway show in the Encores! production series by City Center, New York. The classical musical adventure explores the virtue of desire and the sacrifice we’re to make to obtain the things we want. 

The stage play explores the cautionary fairytale of Stephen Sondheim’s twisty lyrics and Jame Lapine’s book.

The show stars Broadway superstars Brian d’Arcy James, Phillipa Soo, Sara Bareilles, and Patina Miller. The show has been shown on world stages and has won several awards, including best book and lead actress.

It is directed by Lear deBessonet, orchestrated by Rob Berman, and choreographed by Jamal Sims and the Encores!

Radio City Music Hall is a performing arts venue in the heart of New York. Situated within Rockefeller Center, this live music venue hosts a wide range of concerts and shows. It is also the home of the dance troupe the Rockettes.

Opened in 1923, this is truly one of the best live music venues in the city. And probably the most iconic.

This concert hall has hosted the Grammys, Tonys, Emmys, and more. It has a rich and notorious history within New York City and certainly deserves its number 1 spot on this list.

Carnegie Hall in Manhattan  has been a part of New York's unique history since 1892. To play at Carnegie is a great honor amongst musicians and a spot in their lineup is highly coveted.

Musicians of all creeds and genres have played here over the last 100 years +, including Billy Joel, Tony Bennett, and even Tchaikovsky. The beautiful and regal in appearance event space has become a global standard for music excellence, and long may it continue!

The Bowery Ballroom on 6 Delancey Street is a live music venue awarded the prestigious position of #1 Best Club in America by Rolling Stone magazine. It is an intimate spot frequented by some of the best pop acts, indie bands, and new music connoisseurs around.

It is quintessential New York. Good music, great atmosphere, and even better musicians.

Everyone knows Madison Square Garden, right? If we are talking about live music in New York, there is no way we could leave this one behind.

Madison Square Garden is an infamous part of live music in the Empire State. In fact, its reputation extends far past New York itself and it is often dubbed "the World's Most Famous Arena". All the greats have played here. Whether it is sports, ice shows, circuses, or music concerts, this venue has it all.

If you are looking for something on a scale that will blow you away, you can find it at MSG.

The Mercury Lounge is probably our p ersonal favorite entry on this list. It is a unique music venue that hosts indie headliners and newcomers to the music scene in its small but lively space.

This venue space is located on the Lower East Side of New York and is actually the brother venue of our previously mentioned Bowery Ballroom. It has a capacity of 250 seats and was opened in the relatively recent 1993.

If you like something a little different and something a little fresh, this is your perfect spot for music in New York City.

For the final spot on our list, we have the amazing Forest Hills Stadium in New York. This gorgeous space was built in 1923 and has been an integral hub for music in the city since its debut.

It is a stunning outdoor venue with a Greek amphitheater style. No matter what act you are heading here to see, we guarantee the view alone is one you will never forget.

We would highly recommend putting this one on your NYC bucket list, especially in Summer.

Baie-Saint-Paul, a little Canadian hamlet close to Québec City, is where it all began. A group of colorful folks used to wander the streets there in the early 1980s while juggling, dancing, breathing fire, and performing music while on stilts. 

They were members of the street theater troupe Gilles Ste-Croix created, Les Échassiers de Baie-Saint-Paul (the Baie-Saint-Paul Stiltwalkers). The youthful artists, including Guy Laliberté, who formed Cirque du Soleil, had already captured the attention and admiration of the locals.

The group later established Le Club des talons hauts (the High Heels Club) and, in 1982, La Fête foraine de Baie-Saint-Paul, a cultural gathering where street performers from across the world gathered to share ideas and brighten up the town's streets for a few days. 

In 1983 and 1984, La Fête foraine was performed again. Due to the attention Le Club des talons hauts received, Guy Laliberté, Gilles Ste-Croix, and their friends started to harbor the irrational idea of starting a Québec circus and touring the globe with the group.

For the 450th anniversary of Jacques Cartier's discovery of Canada in 1984, Québec City required a show that would spread the celebrations throughout the province. Guy Laliberté persuaded the organizers to accept his plan for the Cirque du Soleil (Circus of the Sun) performance. Since then, Cirque du Soleil has kept performing!
