"Step on Board and Watch NYC Come Alive Like You’ve Never Imagined!"
The Ride is New York City’s newest entertainment adventure, and it’s an amazing ride indeed. Part live show, part tour, part multimedia extravaganza, it’s a true original. It all begins when you step onto a specially outfitted, technologically astounding, oversized bus (the tallest ones allowed in the city by law).
Each bus has been transformed into a moving theater with stadium-style seating that turns the riders sideways looking out the windows, for an amazing perspective. Once things get rolling, your guides will take you on an incredible tour of New York, where professional actors and real people perform and interact, turning the streets of the city into the ultimate stage. Two ballet dancers move magically in the middle of Columbus Circle. Two actors renact the famous V.J. Day kiss between a soldier and a nurse, right in Times Square where the iconic photo of that moment was taken. A delivery man bursts into dance, spinning on the sidewalk. And it all happens in the midst of the hustle and the bustle of city life. What’s part of the show? What’s real life? Part of the fun of The Ride is trying to separate the two, while just sitting back and letting this remarkable experience unfold before you. Multiple tours depart daily from the Marriott Marquis Hotel in the theater district.
Whether you’re a visitor to New York City or a resident who wants to see Manhattan through fresh eyes, The Ride is an unforgettable way to experience the city. In just 75 minutes, you’ll see Times Square, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the Main Branch of the Public Library, 42nd Street, Columbus Circle, Central Park, and more. And what a way to see it!
You experience The Ride on a huge bus that has been turned into a state-of-the-art, moving theater, fully loaded with the latest audio, visual and wireless technology. Your guide will lead the way, relating fascinating historical facts and tidbits about the sites you pass. But what makes The Ride so amazing is the way it combines live performances with the rhythm of the city. You’ll pass actors who will bring brief theatrical moments to life right in the middle of the hubbub. But you’ll also pass.
The Ride departs several times daily from W 42nd Street & 8th Avenue (with a line forming in front of Chevy's restaurant on the corner).
