Your cruise begins after the sun dips beneath the horizon and all of the shining lights of the city bring the New York skyline to life.  Just as you leave land behind, the captain cuts the engine and unfurls the sail so that you can enjoy the surprising tranquility of the Hudson River.  Watch as you silently float past the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and feel the fresh breeze blow through your hair while aboard the magnificent Shearwater. Tour includes one complimentary beverage, either a beer, wine, or soft drink.

  • Wet your whistle with the variety of cocktails and soft drinks that are made available to all guests.
  • Enjoy your cruise on the Shearwater, built by hand in the 1920’s.
  • You’ll have some one-of-a-kind opportunities to take pictures of the dazzling New York City skyline at night.
  • See some stunning landmarks like Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
  • Arrive early; you don’t want to miss the cruise.
  • Dress according to the weather for the evening and wear soft sole shoes.
  • You are allowed to bring snacks on board. 
  • Dates tend to sell out, book your trip in advance.
  • Make sure to read reservation and cancellation policies.
  • If needed, you may reschedule with at least 48-hour notice to Manhattan by Sail.
  • If you are happy with your servers and crew, please tip accordingly.
  • The Shearwater is handicap accessible.
  • If the cruise is canceled by the crew, you will be given a chance to reschedule.
  • Departs from lower Manhattan’s North Cove Marina.
  • Cruise Length is 90 minutes.
  • Children under three years old are free.
